5th Annual Tall Tale Tell-Off NASHVILLE, INDIANA JUNE 21, 2008 |
| Nashville and Brown County has a long history
of association with the arts community. 2004 represented the 100th birthday
of the fictional rustic philosopher ABE MARTIN, created by artist-columnist
Kin Hubbard. Much of Abe's wisdom came from time spent with other native
philosophers on Nashville's "Liars Bench". The bench gained wide recognition
from a rear view picture by photographer-columnist Frank Hohenberger. To honor these two recognized columnists, a TALL TALE TELL-OFF contest will be held in Nashville, Indiana June 21, 2008. Five selected entrants will vie for the $1.000 in prize money offered. An entry fee of $10.00 per submission supports the contest expenses. Winning entrants must be available to perform their submission on June 21, 2008 in Nashville, IN. Long recognized as a mid-western tourism destination, Brown County is a very enjoyable place to visit in June. Entries will be judged on the following criteria: logical progression of story, be plausible but not possible, exhibit literary merit, and have a proximity to reality. Questions???
